Atmos clocks are among the true icons of clockmaking history. Unique among clocks, they require no springs, weights or batteries to work; only slight variations in temperature are enough to power this clock, sometimes for decades without any maintenance. They are the closest thing to the elusive "perpetuum mobile". Invented by J.L. Reutter in the late 20's, they are still produced to this day by Jaeger-LeCoultre. Most clockmakers find them notoriously difficult and time consuming to repair. We are fortunate enough to have an Atmos specialist, trained by Jaeger-LeCoultre; one of only a handful in the world!
